Anna Russell

A.C. RUSSELL is a New York City based director, screenwriter, actress and producer. After being in the acting business for 20 years Off-Broadway, in various commercials and independent films, she decided to create her own magic and has since produced, starred in, directed and/or written over a dozen short films.

Her most recent short Anastasis is premiering at CamerImage in the 2025 Talent Demo, and has an intended film festival run in 2026. Her award winning short films, An Air About Her and The Amiss Advice of Anna Lou, have made their rounds in film festivals across the globe, receiving nominations and awards for Best Short Film, Best Actress and Best Women Empowerment Short. Her next short film, The Fall from High to You will also be making its debut in 2026, and currently has four feature films in development.

A.C creates visually dynamic films featuring flawed female protagonists and has recently enjoyed exploring atypical narratives and psychedelic representations of depression, femininity, and family trauma (because if you have it, use it).
